Start With The Bones

Radiators! I don’t know what it is about them but I love them! These were already painted white so it was one less thing we had to do, but I loved the thought of warming my socks or jeans on them on a cold winter morning.  I feel like they always add something special to an old house.

Built-ins! Who ever built this house back in 1935….THANK YOU!!  bedroom furniture is so bulky and expensive.  My husband Chad and I didn’t have to buy any dressers and try to find a place for them  in the bedrooms.  The built in’s are not only beautiful but extremely practical as well.

Glass knobs and skeleton keys!  Now come on, how many people can actually say they have an old skeleton key for each of their doors and original glass knobs that cast a rainbow of colors into the room when the sun hits it?  I haven’t met many! These were just some of the great bones we had to start with in creating that rustic elegance we wanted to go for.

If you have good bones to work with, your creative juices flow so much easier I feel in terms of design.  Start with the bones!

Jeff + Nicole

One word to describe this wedding. FUN! Jeff and Nicole are the definition of “marrying your best friend.”  The two lit up the room and this will surely be one of the most memorable weddings Chad and I have done.  From the impromptu first dance at an old car show to everyone at the wedding being attacked by swarms of bees, this couple is both classy and sassy and we wish them nothing but the best.

Sara + Brad, Hope NJ

Another one of my beautiful beautiful friends tied the knot with her undoubtedly soul mate and second half.  Both the ceremony and reception were held at in the quaint and homey town of Hope, NJ at the Inn at Millrace Pond.  The weather was perfect, the sun was shining and every small and well thought out detail screamed “Sara and Brad” .   Many years of love and happiness to one of my favorite couples on this planet, congrats you two!

Ahoy!

Little Cooper is one lucky baby!  There was so much love and excitement for Amber and Derick as they prepare for the arrival of their little boy.  This nautical themed baby shower was a delight to capture and many thanks to  Jeri (my “bestie” at work) for inviting me to share her daughter and son-in-law’s special day!

Mara + Ton: City Hall, San Francisco, CA

I am so excited for my 2014 brides! We are starting off this year with a bang with Mara and Ton’s San Fran elopement, turned destination wedding at City Hall.  I have been to this beautiful city before but this was my first time at the breath-taking building.  The architecture will leave your jaw on the floor and the natural light pouring in from every angle easily made this my favorite venue to date.  Mara is one of my best friends and I was honored to document her special day.  She and, now husband, Ton were greeted with 60 of their friends and family to witness the ceremony and later join for dinner at a local Thai restaurant.  We love you guys and thank you for such a beautiful trip to the west coast!

Kim + Pat

I finally got to upload this session, thanks to my horrible internet!  I had so much fun with a beautiful sister Kim and her finance Pat Grey Towers in Milford, PA, which seemed to be the number one location for shoots this year.  It was a cold and windy day but we made it work and had many laughs doing it.  I can’t wait for their wedding next July and welcome to the family Pat!

Meet Sam

My first senior portrait session was with this lovely young lady.  We have certainly come a long way from 8 years ago when I got mine done in our high school library with the same black dress/blanket that all the girls had to wear with the exact same pose.  We had a great time at the always beautiful Grey Towers in Milford Pa, and as usual, I can’t wait to go back.
